Hi Muktha, The song of Veer had impressed me so much that I forgot all the other songs of 2009. The movie Veer has not released yet , but 2 songs had won my Heart , songs are written by my favourite Gulzarji, music by Sajid Wajid..Surili ankhiyon wale sung by Rahat Fateh Ali khan and Salam aaya sung by Roop kumar raathod and Shreya ghoshal.

Suriyili ankhiyon wale ,sunade he teri ankhiyon se
Behti hai neendein aur neendon me sapnein
Kabhi to kinare pe ,uttar mere sapnon se
Aaja zameen pe aur mil jaa kahin pe
Milja kahin sapney se pare
Samay se pare ,milja kahin

Shining in the setting sun like a pearl upon the ocean... Tera hone lagaa hoon - From Azab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani. Why?
It's refreshing and its lyrics are better compared to the cr.ap most of the song writers pass in the name of English lyrics in a Hindi song. Here is the trend setting song for the next decade with raw voices popularized by A.R. Rehman with Sukhwinder and other new comers in 90s. it's a path-breaking song with melody and urbanism blended without deriding the other or offering any cheap clone.

Zara Si Dil Me De Jagah Tu , Zara Sa Apna Le Banaa .... because of it's versatile use ...... in opening ceremony of love , in nakhra , in gussa ... it can fit anywhere ... ha..ha ... but on a bit serious note , I like it's wording and tune and it really touches my heart . Generally , I am a real cacophony but I have masterized this song so perfectly , it brings smile to my sweetheart also ,when she is in real gussa ...ha... ha..

ps : We can nominate it as an universal bathroom song for 2010.

Because your message box is not open for me , I am taking this opportunity to wish you a happy new year with thanks for BA for shrine

For the year 2010 to come

I wish you

I like one song from the film "What is your Rashi" ---Jao Na
Its excellent music, the strokes of Mendoline, and the lyrics have fascinated me ;The song is like this

Tum jo ho to gaa rahee hai ye hawa
Tum jo ho to reshami hai ye fizaa
Jao na....
Fir na ye raat aayegi
Fir na ye root jayegi
Fir na ye milana hoga
Fir na jaane kya hoga........................ Jao Na,... ...more

Muktha > The song before me for year 2009 is certainly not among those hit because of their melodies or instrumentation, or screen presentation. It has no box office star cast, no famous name either with music sector or with lyrical segments, yet it has rich tradition of folk lore and the message it delivers is significant to the present scenario prevailed in the country. This one is from movie `Gulaal`; the most ignored one by the masses in the reporting year, but of course, it was not made for mass appeal, and certainly the producers didn`t expect rush on box office. I don`t know whether you have seen either on big screen (certainly it was released in big metros like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, but not in semi urban cities due to obvious reasons.) I saw Gulaal on DVD, and that too after midnight, and let me admit here frankly, that it was awesome experience for me to watch the unfolding of the dream of erstwhile royal family that stakes claim to the land of Rajasthan and wants to go b ...more
