Why always the media sensationalise the ones that grab the eyeballs of viewers instead of following up those actually need to be focussed elsewhere !!

Without knowing your priorities, it is very very difficult to analyze the role of media from your or a common view point. There are few media houses financed directly by the corporates. hence there priorities are well understood. We have seen that when FDI was the hot issue. But rest of the time you need to hold on the viewers so that at crunch time they give you company. So, sensationalism is always on the high priority of such media houses. Some houses are directly linked to the political parties. They would also have their own priorities. Hence I cannot deny your over all position expressed in this question.
