India now faces threats of terrorism from two directions - Terrorism supported by Pak Govt. over Kashmir issue and Terrorism supported by Al-Qaeda & Taliban, against the non-Islamic state(s) like India who support the allied forces of U.S.A & the Britain.

No, Kashmir is not the main reason for terrorism in India. Agreed, a separatist movement has been on in very militant terms from around 1990 when the Centre's inept handling of the political situation there by taking sides made the incumbent powers there weak and reduced their influence to keep the people under one umbrella. But separatist movements have been there in India right from Independence, the most pronounced and long drawn out being the insurgency in NE States, where it is at a low key now but still simmering inspite of many a landmark agreement with in the 1970s with various State insurgency factions. Then came the Punjab and Assam separatist movements that led to many a terrorist activity, the former more or less dead now and the later still in place.

Thus, the J and K issue would have carried on till such time the people would have got fed up of it and let it die on its own. But the Afghan invasion by the Russians changed the scenario as it unfolded in the 1980s. Be it ...more

The problems in Kashmir started with the peaceful nature of India, if our First Prime Minister had sent the army before going to UN, than the entire kashmir would have been in India.

The present situation is the brainwashing of Pakistanis who feel that India has robbed their land. One should see the geography or History books of Pakistan to realize from what age this brain washing begins.

The main issue is a weak nation with no strategic foresight, when things had started moving right for India we called for cease fire in 1948, then we returned the Hajipir Pass having won it in1965 and 1971. Having 90,000 prisoners of war we failed to pressurise pakistan to return back our teritory in Pak occupioed Kashmir in 1971. We can't hang Afzal guru despite his involvement having been proved, Kasab makes a mockery of Indian Laws for more than a year now. the Naxal problem is increasing.. Where does Kashmir fit into it.BTW J&K involves five seperate region out of which two, namely Gilgit and Baltidtan as well as Hunza and Nagar are in Pak occupation, no one speaks of then ...
