The Jungle Book was written by Rudyard Kipling. Rudyard Kipling also wrote a sequel called The Second Jungle Book. The two books combined are known as The Jungle Books.

Other stories included the adventures of a heroic mongoose named Rikki-Tikki-Tavi and an elephant herder boy named Toomai.
