Absolutely He is . Dhoni became the third Indian captain to have recorded ten wins or more in Tests, enjoying a success % of 62.50. He has lost just two and drawn four out of sixteen contested.
Dhoni is the only one amongst the Indian skippers with five or more Tests as captain to register the winning % of 60.00 or more. Sourav Ganguly (21 wins out of 49 Tests - winning % 42.85) Mohammad Azharuddin (14 out of 47 - winning % 29.78) are the only other Indian captains to have recorded atleast ten Test wins.With a win in the third Test at Colombo (SSC), Dhoni has maintained his record, not to have lost a Test series as yet as captain.

As in Tests, Dhoni enjoys a similar success percentage in ODIs - 47 wins, 28 losses and seven no-result games - winning % 62.66 - out of 82 contested. Whthr charismatic or not he is very practical and inspiring captain. indain players ko samalna badi mushkil cheez hai...bade bade lamba bhaga hai pehle

I don't think so.There are many who wins the heart.Dhoni's is a sheer luck effect or impact which co-incidence with the form of many other individuals at right time.
