Lake Baikal, which is situated in the southern part of eastern Siberia in Russia is the deepest lake in the world, with a depth of 1,637 meters or 5,371 ft. It is also the worlds largest freshwater lake, holding 20% of the worlds total surface freshwater. It is also regarded as the world's biggest lake.
