You must be referring to Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a character portrayed in the trilogy of books written by Thomas Harris. The first book was made into a film called the Silence of the Lambs starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster. Quite a frightening story of the genius known as Hannibal Lecter who was also a cannibal and Jodie Foster the investigator for whom Hannibal had a soft spot and decided never to eat her...............

"Hannibal" is a story about one of the most fascinating characters ever created for the silver screen. In his follow-up to "Silence of the Lambs," Anthony Hopkins (as Hannibal Lechter) creates nightmare material.

But Hamilton Albert Fish, the real-life model for "Hannibal the Cannibal," proves the adage "truth is stranger than fiction." The MOST gruesome scenes in Hannibal the movie are mild compared with the LEAST gruesome acts in Fish's life. Legend even has Fish looking forward to the "thrill" of the electric chair.
