It was the infamous United States Grand Prix of 2005, that witnessed only 6 drivers in the race namely Micheal Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello of Ferrari, Tiago Montiero and Narain Karthekiyan (Jordan), and Christijan Albers and Patrick Friesacher (Minardi). The teams using Brigdestone tyres raced whereas the rest having Michelin tyres did not race after the controversy raised after Ralf Schumacher's car crash on the same track.
