Every school in China as table tennis team and the children start playing from the age of 5. They apply the same work ethic to table tennis as everything else and practice long and hard.

Chinese Table Tennis is popular world-wide under the name of Ping Pong, a political diplomatic policy, to attract, establish and enhance relationship and Trade between China and the estranged foreign countries like U.S.A. that lead the U.S President Richard Nixon's historic visit to China and meeting with the Chinese leader Mao Zedong and the head of a Chinese table-tennis delegation, Zhuang Zedong in 1972.

Also on the itinerary were Canada, Mexico and Peru. However, China's attempts to reach out to countries through their "Ping Pong diplomacy" were mostly successful,
