David Morrissey (born 21 June 1964) is an award-winning English actor He made his television debut in 1983, after training with Everyman's Youth Theatre in Liverpool, and went on to train at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). At the 2004 BAFTA awards, Morrissey was nominated for Best Television Actor for his performance in the drama serial, State of Play. In the same year, the play The Deal, in which he co-starred as Gordon Brown opposite Michael Sheen's Tony Blair, won the award for Best Single Drama. In 2008 he will star in the UK premiere of Neil LaBute's In a Dark Dark House at the Almeida Theatre, and will also appear in the 2008 Christmas special of Doctor Who, "The Next Doctor", as seen in the trailer at the end of Series 4 episode "Journey's End".
