NEITHER OF THEM. THEY PLAY FOR THEIR OWN NAME, FAME AND MONETARY GAIN. SACHIN HAS PASSION FOR CRICKET BECAUSE HE GETS PAISA FOR PLAYING AND BY CONTINUING WITH CRICKET HE GETS MORE ADs. SAME COULD BE SAID FOR vis.Anand TO CERTAIN EXTENT .

None. Is it an award for self development and self profit or should it be for Selfless service of the Country ?

Looking at the state and sum total of truly great persons who could be considered for the award, it is no doubt that Anand should be one of them. There are about 4 grandmasters who have won the world championship 5 times including Kasparov and Karpov. Probably, Anand may also win it for the 5th time. Even without it, chess is a world wide sport and not an easy one at that. But so many Indians have said and acknowledged that Anand is the greatest sportsman of all times of India. I hope you are an understanding type.

None of them. Bharat Ratna is not a Sports Award. It is the highest Civilian Award given to a person who has given outstanding contribution to the Nation for peaceful co-existence and social welfare and contribution in a field. Sachin and Anand have to go much much far to achieve this highest award.
