In all honesty, the Indian film industry has come a long way. Technology has been a major factor, apart from the global influences/exposure to the International Craft of movie making/ the big money games, with big players like Warner bros...Columbia...etc coming to India to invest and open the avenues for a progressive industry. The craft of movie making, music, cinematography, investments, returns etc all have improved and thus, the industry has been given the official status of a Government backed and recognised industry. The key factors which have evidently improved are the finnese, the quality if story telling, the discovery of new genres, which are more parallel, less art vs. commercial kinds. Directors are young,so are the producers and the stars...those who have matured, have taken the Indian films to the Global scenario...like Amir Khan,A R Rehman,Tabu,Aishwarya Rai,Irfan Khan,to name a few. The minuses can be overlooked, cause, all said and done, the industry sure is flourishing, under thes ...more

The story lines, with a few exceptions, are thin or not there. Glamour is more visible and reality has gone to the dogs. Songs and music are all hotch potch imitatations of the west, with no meaningful lyrics. It is all one continous fantasy with no sense of realism.

Hindi movies altogether changed a vast in the last few decades. The first and foremost thing is that techonoloy wise, it is be equal to Hollywood, if not better than Hollywood. Moreover, some of the Films entered in the Oscar like Lagaan etc. hence it is a great credit to our producers and directors. other wise, the story line, the quality of acting etc are detriorating. The other thing is that it may be difficult to digest but a truth itself. Before , we can see the film in theotre with family and now a days it is very difficult to watch the films with families due to so many factors. such as dress, actions , etc. these are some draw back in our Hindi Film Industry,. No story line , no acting, slick comedy etc spoliled the hindi movies. The last but not the least , not only Hindi Films are detrirorating but all together all the movies made in Madras, Trivendrum or Bangalore and Hyderabad also facing the same problems. but who cares ?
