Q.
He Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in its status report to the Supreme Court Wednesday pointed finger at Textile Minister Dayanidhi Maran for sitting on Aircel's application for 2G license and forcing it be sold to Malaysian company Maxis.Maxis Communication, through its subsidiary Astro, invested around Rs.600 crore in Sun DTH belonging to Sun TV Network owned by Maran's family, it has been alleged.
Maran held the telecom portfolio from May 2004 to May 2007.- Is this like KALAINGAR TV episode ?

May not be exactly same but prima facie there is a strong case of corruption against Maran . In Kalaingar there has been a quid pro quid (214crores ) which has taken a circuitous route . But here there is investment decision by subsidiary Astro which could be defended in court on other grounds . But CBI may have some strong logic to prove that this was scandalous .
