Don Bradman is unbeatable with his average of 9.94, which cannot be broken or equalled except by a miracle.
Steve Waugh is more than a great cricketer. He is also a well known philanthropist Running a hospital for children in Kolkata with his earnings from cricket. A thorough gentleman.
Ricky Ponting is a great cricketer but cannot be compared with Waugh because he is not a gentleman ... and cricket is supposed to be a gentleman's game.
Therefore its Steve Waugh.

Having not seen don bradman play , i can only comment on ricky ponting and steve waugh only. and though ricky has better records , steve waugh is a good gentleman for his nature as well as sportmanship and yes he was the better captain of the two. don bradman is the best in the world though as far as records go

Don Bradman must have been a delight to watch - but unfortunately, he played in an earlier era. Between Steve and Ricky, I think most Indians would prefer Steve - simply because he is also a gentleman, in addition to being an extremely competent cricketer and leader. Ricky is perhaps as good a player - if not better - but he would get almost no points for likability.
