I don't believe so, Vilas. That's because the caste system is subtly & tacitly endorsed by India homes. We like to be secular to the point of badmouthing how Talibanistic and anti diversity Pakistan is...but we refuse time & again to check our own back yards.
Caste system will vanish the day when I browse a matrimonial section & see ads like "bride needs groom" without any added text (Christian, Mudaliar, Brahmin, Muslim) etc in the quotebox.
We want to TALK ABOUT secularism and we want to sport secularism around like a fashion accessory....gives u a sophisticated and benign look when you talk secularism in parties & in functions...but not too many Indians are really ready to embrace & practice it.
