There was a country called Andher Nagari the king of which was called Chaupat Raja. He coined this term because in his kingdom no one was dukhi. Chaupat raaj tha. Jiski jo marzi aaye kare.

The term Gross National Happiness (GNH) was coined by Bhutan's King Jigme Singye Wangchuck when he ascended the throne in 1972.
