The bIble prohibits idol worship. It is aginst the BIble. Christains dont have idol worship but Catholics do.

Jesus (pbuh) was against Idol worship. He was the true servant and Messenger of Allah the Almighty.

It is permitted by catholic church ,As far as I know Testaments strictly prohibit it and says it is big sin but I need confirmation

The same as you make idols of Rama, Krishna, Laxmi, Saraswathi, though it is not mentioned anything about idols in Bhagawat Geeta.

There is lot of misconception about catholics worshiping idols of jesus and mary. Bible does not permit IDOL worship. Jesus and Mary lived on this earth and people who saw them in person or people who had visions made portraits and based on this portraits idols were made, this is done only to depict and pass on to the furture generations how jesus and mary looked and lived not to worship them. The Idols are only revered since they are made in the image of Jesus and Mary.

Theidols, paintings, markings and other symbols of human mental imaginations are there to assist a person concentrate on a particular subject including god, goddesses and God.This helps people initially to focus on divine object.Be they Jesus and Merry,Hanuman, Ganesha, hOLY bOOK, SYMBOLIC PLACE OF WORSHIP or any thing like that.
