That is indeed a sad state of affairs in our country today. Hockey has been brought to this pitiful state by the machinations of the powers that be, who in their drive to promote their own self interests have completely destroyed this game. Today, we have two organisations who wants to control the game and in the process, whatever little was left has also been done away with. Today, the FIH has even taken away the Champions Trophy from being conducted in India due to this politics. The way things stand, there is no salvation for this game in our country, as nothing is being done to spot talent, train them and make them proficient to compete at international levels. No one cares and we probably are seeing the death of this game in our country if things are left to these self serving powers ...
