Kaike is the mother of bharat. dashrat had three wives and one of them is Kaike. The dasi at the palace poisoned her mind and told her to make bharat the king of ayodhya and send ram to jungle for 14 years. since dashrath had made a promise to kaike in the past that he would grast any one wish to kaike and fulfil it, kaike wished that ram be sent to the forest for 14 years and bharat should be made the king. dashrat had no option but to listen to kaike.

Kaikeyi ,in the Hindu epic Ramayana, was the youngest of King Dasaratha's three wives and a queen of Ayodhya. She was the mother of Bharata. The word Kaikeyi in Sanskrit means "belonging to Kaikey" or "of Kaikeya".
