If a drop of water falls in lake there is no identity, but if it falls on a leaf of a LOTUS it shines like a PEARL. Is it in our hands [destiny] to lose our identity or we can choose to shine like a pearl ?
(Abraham Lincoln, letter to A.G. Hodges, April 4, 1864)
That was my main reference. Who are we to challenge destiny? A drop can never choose where it falls... in a pond, on a lotus, sewage, crow anywhere! It's the circumstances that would make that drop help find identity. We are born like a drop, pre-destined to our dear parents, and then our surroundings, coupled with our deeds & yes! destiny helps shape our identity.
