Chupke Chupke starring Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bachchan, Om Prakash, David, Asrani and Keshto Mukherjee. It was released in 1975 and was directed by the great Hrishikesh Mukherjee. It was a laugh riot right from the beginning and we almost fell off from our seats laughing. The story goes as follows(source:Wikipedia) Professor Parimal Tripathi (Dharmendra) is a botany professor who falls in love with Sulekha Chaturvedi (Sharmila Tagore) during a women's college botany excursion. Prof. Parimal Tripathi helps the bungalow watchman to get to his village downhill to enable him to see his grandson who's fallen ill. Meanwhile he disguises as the bungalow watchman to protect the old man's job. Sulekha finds out one day about the cover-up and is charmed on seeing Parimal's real personality. They both get married. Parimal loves playing pranks and is the antithesis of regular professors. Sulekha, on the other hand is in awe by her jijaji (brother-in-law) Raghav ...more

I like witty and situational comedies. In Hindi my all time favorites are Chhote Miyan Bade Miyan and Shola aur Shabnam. Besides I liked few other like Main Khiladi, Tu anaari. In English, I like the humor of Indiana Jones very much. I can even see part 5, 6 and 7 without feeling bored. When it comes to Comedy, I liked Rush Hour series. The Nutty Professor is gross. I don't know if American Sweethearts can be called a comedy or not. But well it was well told humorus story. Then this comedy is great - I saw somewhere in 1986 - Hold Up. One of them fakes the shooting of another one acting as a hostage and the other one dies with red ink spread around. The movie takes a funny turn, when the police outside accepts the demand and the "dead" man happily gets up to hug his friend. Then they strike a dea ...more
