It is absolutely ridiculous criticism. Congress was definitely involved in the discussions and it authorised the govt to take appropriate steps to handle the crisis and it kept silent afterwards -no murmur or protest - come elections and it rakes up the issue. I just want to ask MMS - what would have he done in such a situation-? His comparison with 26/11 is as ridiculous as is his attempt to show himself strong. He is comparing horses with sheep.. what a pity?

They should've sent in commandos & stormed the plane, just as Congress-I regime did when Mumbai got attacked.... or BJP could've sent an IAF jet & shot the hijacked airliner down midair.

It is the practice that in the event of crisis, opposition is taken into confidence before a decision is taken. Advani/Rajnath Singh are right when they say that Manmohan singh as a leader of opposition was taken into confidence. What Advani says that the decision of sending Jaswant Singh to Kandhar alongwith the terrorist was not discussed in the meeting or with him. He should be believed as the plane was in another country, and minister of foreign affairs was incharge of the action to be taken.Security advisor too was reporting to PM Mr. Vajpayee. Advani has already noted these facts in his book copies of which he presented to Mrs Sonia Gandhi also. Conduct of Advani is in confirmity with democratic traditions.
