Nehru did industrial development but forget about village.he was responsible for family rule and corruption , for kashmir problem and disaster at the hands of china in 1962, started appeasement of muslims, disrespect for nationalist leaders like patel, rajendra pdji while ambedkar was forced to write in constituation whatever dictated by britishers.nehru was under influence of lady mountbetten and country suffered due to that.

Chacha PM DID have a development vision- and Socialism is an economic system, which aims to bring forth development to the land.....
And our family was one of those "rich zamindars" Chacha launched Socialism w/ the help of.....anyway, we had to empty out our homes, get located to a dingy govt sanctioned flat w/a barely running fan, handover ALL of what belonged to us, and then- help the govt w/ large scale projects because at the time, only Zamindars had the expertise to handle large manpower....but those "rich zamindars" didn't complain- we gladly obliged Chachaji.
And we did it happily w/o complaining because Chacha cared about the nation, not because PM Nehru promised my grandfather a night w/ Edina Mountbatten :)
And Chacha's economic development model was adopted by Marshall TIto of Yugoslavia- and he even favored it over Comrade Stalin's model and by 1960s and 70s ACCORDING TO THE UNITED NATIONS- Yugoslavia was a first world country- by adopt ...more

Everybody has their own way of thinking. All of the people you have mentioned tried something and according to some they are successful and to some they are not. All policies that are formulated look good on paper but when it comes to implementation things go off track and only the formulator of the policy can't be held responsible for that. it,s basically the sleeping citizens who are the culprits of development in India. If someone wants to break the law, the constitution maker is not responsible for that. ---"EK HI ULLOO KAFI HAI BARBAD-E-GULISTA KARNE KO, ANJAM-E-GULISTA KYA HO JAB HAR SAKH PE ULLOO BAITHA HO"

Please do not underestimate the efforts of all our elders. It is the politicians who ruined all the development work. Partly we are to be blamed for electing them.
