The restaurant chain which is most prolific within the world is McDonalds. The American company founded by two brothers. Some people may question their classification as a 'restaurant' since they are in effect a fast food chain. However, food can be consumed on the premises and as such they can be classified as a restaurant and they define the brand as a restaurant or 'drive thru' restaurant. The format for the restaurants is almost the same, although some concessions are made to cultural differences etc in different parts of the world.
