I assume ur ques is abt islam and these r only misconceptions....i explain in brief below
regarding slavery: slavery was a practise in arabia and many other parts of the world. slaves were treated worse thn animals everywhere. jews were treated as slaves in ancient egypt and were not given any rights. in rome they were used for bloodsports and as gladiators for the enjoyment of masters. slaves were not fed and used to be kept in chains at many places.
1)when islam came the slaves were actually given a status in society. they were recognised as humans and not something worse thn animals. eg. a man was on his camel with his slave walking behind. whn Prophet Mohammed(SAW) saw this, he immediately ordered the man to seat the slave on the camel behind him.
2)slaves in the islamic age cud even marry their master's daughters and urges muslims to marry their muslim women slaves (there r examples of this. cud anyone imagine this anywhere else). even our Prophet adopted one of his slaves Zayd ...more

If any do deeds of righteousness, be they male or female,
and have faith, they will enter Paradise
and not the least injustice will be done to them. [Quran 4:124]

In the above verse, it is clear that ALLAH treatment and judgement is equal to both men and women. Actually comparing men and women is wrong. they are two distinct beings physically, psychologically and spiritually. That is the reason why women tend to have more patience, more loving and caring than men. Quran expects team work from man and woman but does not compare them and their capabilities. For example if a person is appointed as the captain of the cricket team, that does not mean that he is the BEST player. It only means that he is the best person who can adjust to captainship responsibilities without harming his game much. This is exactly the same case with man and woman. ALLAH never compared man and woman. Quran clearly gives separate responsibilities to each of them. No where does the Quran compare or equate or ...more

The attitude of the Qur'an and the early Muslims bear witness to the fact that woman is, at least, as vital to life as man himself, and that she is not inferior to him nor is she one of the lower species.Islam has given woman rights and privileges which she has never enjoyed under other religious or constitutional systems. This can be understood when the matter is studied as a whole in a comparative manner, rather than partially. The rights and responsibilities of a woman are equal to those of a man but they are not necessarily identical with them. Equality and sameness are two quite different things. This difference is understandable because man and woman are not identical but they are created equals. The fact that Islam gives her equal rights - but not identical - shows that it takes her into due consideration, acknowledges her, and recognizes her independent personality. The status of woman in Islam is something unique, something novel, something that has no similarity in any other sy ...more

In HINDUISM,women are not treated as slaves.they are worshipped as,
GAURI, LAXMI, SARASWATI, DURGA.
DURGA in the symbol of courage.she is depicted as kali....who kills demons.

women are given the choice to choose their grooms in SWAYAMBERS.
as told in epics like RAMAYANA and MAHABHARATA.

it was only after the muslim invasion in our country that hinduism went throgh many transformations.....like veil and all.

Menses

"When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening. anything she lies on during her period will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean. Whoever touches her bed must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Whoever touches anything she sits on must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touches it, he will be unclean till evening."

Leviticus 15:19-23
Ali asked the Prophet Mohammed if when a man and a woman make love then their clothes stick to them from the sweat of their bodies, or if when a woman has her period her clothes stick to her body, are the clothes considered unclean?

The Prophet replied: "No, the uncleanness is only in the semen and the blood."

EVE'S FAULT ?
God said to Eve:

"I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you."

To Adam He said:

"Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree .... Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life..."

The Islamic conception of the first creation is found in several places in the Quran, for example: ...more
