David Ogilvy is correct. The British-born advertising icon detested jingles in commercials. In his sarcastic and derisive fashion, he chided advertising creative directors (including his own) who opted to use those 30 & 60 second mini-songs in radio and TV spots, rather than using straight copy by a voice-over or on-camera actors.
