Testament means \"covenant.\" The Bible consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament book is essentially the Jewish Bible, also called the Tenakh. Those of Jewish faith regard the Old Testament as their Scripture whereas those of Christian faith see both the Old and New Testaments as their Scripture.
The Old Testament is the first two-thirds of the Bible. It contains all the Jewish scriptures compiled until about 400 B.C. 400 years before the birth and ministry of Jesus Christ. The first five books Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy comprise the Pentateuch, or Torah for Jews.
These books tell the creation story, the story of the fall and how sin entered the world, and of God\'s first intervention in the history of man. Old testament is the corrupted version of the devine book Zuboor (Psalms) and Toraat (Toraah) and part of new testtament is again a corrupted version of devine book Injeel and rest of it is human handy work, mostly influnced by St. Paul.

Old Testament i.e.Old Covenant - a covenant God made with the Jews based on sacrifical atonement and law keeping.
New Testament i.e.New Covenant - a covenant God made with all mankind based on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
