Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the best of the lot.
He could reach out to the people.
Indira Gandhi had a golden opportunity,
but she squandered it all.
First by imposing the Emergency and
then by military action,
Operation Blue Star against the Golden Temple and the Sikhs.
No leader in independent India has dared to attack a running House of Worship.
