The modern safety pin was the invention of
Walter Hunt. For those of you who don't
know what a safety pin is; it is an object
commonly used to fasten clothing i.e. cloth
diapers together. The very first pins used
for clothing date back to the Mycenaeans during the fourteenth century BCE and were called
fibulae.
