Dr. Yoshiro Nakamatsu (also known as Dr. NakaMats) was born on June 26, 1928. He is a Japanese inventor. He has more than three thousand patents to his name, including the floppy disk, the compact disc, the digital video disc, the digital watch, CinemaScope and the taxicab meter.

It is not Thomas Alva Edison, as is commonly believed, but Dr Yoshiro NakaMats of Japan who has the most patents to his name, 3,218, which is almost three times than those attributed to Edison. Among others, the computer floppy disk and the kerosene pump are credited to him.
