Q.

Bill Gates (founder Microsoft), late Steve Jobs (founder Apple), Michael Dell (founder Dell Computers), Paul Allen (co-founder Microsoft), Mark Zuckerberg (founder Face book) and many more like that are college drop outs. Are you amused? What is the message you get from these universally acclaimed big guys?

1) All of their brains work in a weird way. That is why all of them found the school very routine and boring and started to do the things on their own way and made their marks. They are geniuses.
2) Such people are there in every society. But their number is very small.
3) The nature must be really very kind to you to have such a genius brain so that you can also become like them, make a difference to the lives of billions of people in your own positive way.
4) It also has to be remembered here that a few of them had to endure the hardship of rejection, betrayal, disappointment and all these setbacks only made them more determined in their endeavor to stick to their courage of conviction to deliver the best of best products and services. The life story of Steve Jobs is the best example in this regard.

This only reinforces the fact that formal education upto a level and pure common sense and natural intelligence beyond that is enough to achieve success in life. I am not amused but amazed with the entrepreneurship of the personalities you have mentioned.

It has always been the case. A few pioneers have always made it a success in this world due to some unique ability they hold. Even our Dhirubhai Ambani. But every petrol pump attendant can't leave his job and think of starting a business of his own. They are in a very miniscule percentage that can be counted and may be that is God's way of doing it to open up opportunities for others to enjoy the fruits of their unique ability, going by the number of people that they employ. And because of the income that they individually make, the kind of prosperity that they are able to provide for their families and in turn to the economy as a whole.

There is no harm in dreaming. Each one can do that, make an attempt to realise those dreams but not necessary that every one would have the potential to carry it to conclusion. So many fall by the wayside due to any number of reasons but that wouldn't stop some one from trying again. The reason, we see so many start ups by so many people. God alone ...more
