All the characters in Ramayana is equally important. They played their part perfectly. Ram is God Himself and is the Maryada Purushotam. Lakshman on the other hand blind foldly followed Ram wherever Ram went, even to the forest as Shesh Nag follows as Shesh Nag is known for his anger, Lakshman is also get agitated even for some slight provocation, hence Bharath, Urmila and to some extent Lakshman's mother Sumithra , Vali's wife Tara are the most likeble character and one of the best characters according to me in Ramayana. Coming to Bharath Character it is said that when Rajagopalachari have re wrote his Ramayan , he considered Bharth or given equal status to Azhvar. Bharath is considered to be Aazhwar as he is called as Bharathazhgwar.
