Always an active component present in the natural source is better for absorption and distribution in the body. The advantage of the isolated component is the control of the quantity (regulation of dose) and comparatively small size. The natural source has often additional medicinal and nutritional components (like anti-oxidant polyphenols responsible to prevent destruction of compounds like ascorbic acid) and the synergetic action of the combinations. Amla and Nelli are the same known in different language. The collection and processing of the genuine items from nature is the disadvantage and the absence of assay giving the approximate concentration are other disadvantages of the crude drug, often adulterated and supplied.

Been reading such vantinti chitkaalu for many many years....along with Malathi Chandur's Pramadhavam in Andhara pravha weekly.. Even today it makes senses for sure..thanks Josna gaaru...
