By sowing the seeds of patriotism in younger generation right from the time of their infancy. When they grow up the national spirit would proliferate in their nature.

We have to inculcate in our house then to the society. One joke: An Amecican visited India and afer returning to America he told his Indian friend that he could not meet any Indian during my visit to India. His friend was surprised and asked him 'how is it possible that you have not met any Indian in India. The American replied, they were telling I am Punjabi, I am Gujarati, I am Tamil, I am Keralite etc I have not met Indian there. Let us start the National sprit calling ourselves Indian.

There is no need to "generate" national spirit. Nationality too is narrow minded feeling in the strict sense, though comparatively a broader one. Nation is a man made concept after all.
What we need is, to familiarize our kids to think in terms of the whole humanity, all living beings....nay, the entire planet or the universe ! They have to be assisted to grow into humans with INTEGRITY. A person with integrity, respects and stands up for his family, his society, his religion, his country and finally the whole humanity ! Future of life on earth is in the hands of such people !
