Murder is inspired by the movie Unfaithful, the 2002 Hollywood blockbuster starring Dianne Lane, Richard Gere and Oliver Martinez. The movie got a mixed response but the desi version Murder(2004) was a huge hit. Apart from Murder, there were two more movies based on Unfaithful-Hawas(starring Meghna Naidu) and Tezaab - The Acid of Love(starring Shruti Sharma). Tezaab - The Acid of Love is a hit in the DVD/VCD circuit because of the raunchy scenes and smooches. Hawas was a flop.
