Mohammad (PBUH)....

Mohammad has been admitted by friend and foe as Al Amin, or the faithful. If a conqueror is a great man, here is a person who rose from helpless orphan and an humble creature to be the ruler of Arabia, the equal to Chosroes and Caesars, one who founded great empire that has survived all these 14 centuries. If the devotion that a leader commands is the criterion of greatness, the prophet's name even today exerts a magic charm over millions of souls, spread all over the world.

He had not studied philosophy in the school of Athens of Rome, Persia, India, or China. Yet, He could proclaim the highest truths of eternal value to mankind. A typical argument often made by Muslim polemicists in defense of their prophets honesty is that Muhammad was given the epithet Al-Ameen (or Amin), meaning the Trustworthy, by his kinsmen long before his alleged commission by God. They gave him this title, so it is claimed, because they considered him to be the best man among them, one who was never known to have told a lie. The following hadith is submitted as evidence for this assertion:

" He [Heraclius] said, Had you ever blamed him for telling lies before he claimed what he claimed? I replied, No. He said, Does he break his promises? I replied, No, but we are now at truce with him and we are afraid that he may betray us. . When I asked you whether he was ever blamed for telling lies, your reply was in the negative, so I took it for granted that a person who did not tell a lie about (others) the people could never tell a lie about Allah. Allah has sent prophets to every nation throughout history so that they may show their people the Straight Path. Some of these prophets have been granted miracles by the permission of Allah in order to support their Divine message. Prophets Ibrahim, Musa and Isa were just some of the messengers to whom Allah granted miracles and these are outlined in the Qur'an.

Similarly, the Prophet Muhammad was also granted miracles throughout his life for people to see and learn from, by Allah's permission. Many of these are well-known such as the Night Journey and Ascent through the Heavens. Others are less well-known such as the flowing of water from the fingers of the Prophet.
