One less known fact about donkey is that if one donkey is knocked down by the truck on a road the other donkey too stands in the middle of the road and refuses to budge, perhaps he too wants to commit suicide. It shows that he has feelings for the other. I was surprised when I saw it, not once but many times.

Everything is good about Donkeys they are wonderful creatures - unfortunately it is their owners who can be bad and mistreat them. Donkeys are slower and less powerful than horses but they are extremely intelligent animals. They have a strong sense of survival and if they feel something is dangerous they simply wont do it. They are particularly patient and persistent animals and as a result make excellent pack animals - unlike a horse who will gallop away when they are frightened a donkey will freeze on the spot. Owners should appreciate that donkeys coats are not waterproof like a horse so they need shelter and their should be trimmed every 8 weeks to prevent injury. They have an affectionate and kind nature and live a long time too. Such a pity man does not appreciate them more.

I hope this will enlight you :
The donkey has several advantages over the horse. These equines are incredibly strong, sometimes able to carry as much as 40% of their body weight. They are also easy keepers, requiring minimal food and capable of digesting almost anything edible. The infamous donkey stubbornness also keeps these animals and their riders out of danger, and donkeys are known for being very patient and trusting with people they know. Historically, many people had donkeys because they could not afford horses, and donkey became known as an animal of the lower classes as a result, with many peasant groups and folk organizations adopting donkeys as their symbols.
