We have come to this world not to master animals and make them behave as our slaves, but we have been sent here by the Almighty to serve others - human beings as well as animals. Go on doing whatever you can towards the caring and service of all including the animals around you. There is a second angle to this enigma as well. We had come to this world alone and we know that one day we'll leave it alone. In course of living here, we have already created a number of bondages - family members, relatives, friends - none of whom did we know initially. Now, what is the fun in creating further bondages by rearing pets. We should thrive to make something that fees us from our existing bondages. So, it is better not to have any pets at all.
