"Immediately after the election process was completed by S N Jayaram, regional commissioner who was the presiding officer, elections for the 12 standing committees began.
Just as the process of electing one committee was completed, it was time to break for lunch. At 1.15 pm, the council adjourned for lunch. When the House resumed after 20 minutes, there were just five corporators of the total strength of 198, and the rows were empty throughout the massive hall. "
This is what the new mayor encountered in the first place . How is she going to get the support of the members is a big question

I dont think a single person can do much in such a corrupt society, except an Anna Hazare, because the very persons supporting her will withdraw their support, once she is seen as going against their plans
