The US is not moving towards Socialism. HEre's the US bailout package: Govt---->Corporations--(thru corporations)--->people. Govt gives billions to he corporations, who in turn "create economic boom" for the "people" to enjoy. Well, whether you believe it or not is another story, bu t that's the US idea of public spending. Socialist models don't work that way. It's more along the side of: Govt--(thru PSU)-->people. In a Socialist model, the "national industry" is only a MEANS of facilitating HDI / resources to the people. They aren't direct beneficiaries of govt expenditure. In capitalist govt like US, corporates are direct beneficiaries of govt expenditure. Funds are disbursed in US according to corporate needs, in a Socialist model, it will be the need of the sum total of the working class ppl. Instead of "giving more money" a Socialist model will solve the issue by "bringing down cost of living. ...more

We should learn from failure of socialism in erstwhile USSR and now capitalism in USA. India has also witness how unrefulated freedom provided to private sector is causing trouble to genral mass when prices of all commodities touching sky . Profitablity greed of businessmen wnet so high that even CA;s started working in line with corrupt businessmen and corrupt officers to cheat general mass. Now the situation has taken a reverse turn when prices are coming down in lack of demand , not by dint of government pressure or due to fear of regulating authorities. As such India needs mixture of socialistic as also capitalistic pattern of policies
