The one thing that comes to the mind of the film-maker, when he/she starts working on a movie; would be appreciation from the viewers (and may be also from the critics). The Oscar for best movie would be given to a single movie only; but there may be many movies in the year, which were liked by the audiences....many times it brings a smile on their faces, while other brings tears in their eyes...!
I think, these tears and smiles are the real achievement for a film-maker....!!

I want to quote an example from the Indian Film Industry -
The classic movie "PYASA" from Late Guru Dutt ji, was believed to be unsuccessful... as it run in theaters only for a week; but now it is a part of the course-ware of Film-related courses, of 11 Universities......round the Globe....!!!

I find the many nominations much better than the award winners. There are lot of politics and dirty considerations behind awards but no such things for nominations.
