These places are hundreds of kilometers apart and are under different tectonic stresses. Also drilling would trigger earthquakes with much smaller magnitudes near and within the formation itself (microquakes rather than events up to magnitude 3) rather than quakes in a different region. A more likely reason is some kind of hydrothermal, magmatic, or tectonic shift within the crust. Remember the Yellowstone region is tectonically active and the park itself is in a caldera. A natural phenomena is a much more likely explanation for the earthquake cluster than shallow drilling hundreds of kilometers away.
