Its Bharat Ratna...it is the highest civilian honour... given for exceptional service towards advancement of Art, Literature and Science, and in recognition of Public Service of the highest order.
Unfortunately...and although Sardar Patel and Morarji Desai were awarded posthumously for their contribution...some most deserving & missing persons like Rabindranath Tagore and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose...stand out as ones who deserved but were not awarded....posthumously.
