In Punjab .e.f. April 1,2009 All the MLA's will get laptops, their salaries have been revised from Rs.4000 to Rs.10,000 per month. Their constituency allowance has been enhanced from existing Rs.8000 to Rs.15,000. They will be entitled to appoint a personal office assistant up to salary of Rs.5,000 beside an office allowance of Rs.5000. Telephone allowance revised to Rs.10,000 per month. Their daily allowance for attending house meetings has been doubled from Rs.500 to Rs.1000 per day. The free Travel facility expenses has been revised from 1.25 lakh to Rs.2 lakh per year. They have also been authorised to get advance for their air journeys abroad.
The limit of home loan advance has been revised from existing Rs.10 lakh to Rs.40 lakhs. They can also get Rs.75,000 for repair of the house. The car loan ceiling has been raised from Rs.6 lakh to Rs.10 lakhs.
