Whiskey is preferred with water because soda being carbonated water kills the taste of whisky. Real whiskery connoisseurs like to have their whisky neat or with ice-cubes on the side.

definitely whiskey and soda. it adds the necessary fizz to the drink. it really enhances the taste of the whisky. majority of the people have whisky with soda.
