BAIJU BAWRA WAS GREAT THAN TANSEN. DIFFRECE IS BAIJU BAWRA WAS POOR N DINT KNOWN ALL OVER THE STATE N EVEN HE HIMSELF LOVES HIS ART NOT MONEY N TANSEN WAS WELL KNOWN COS HE WAS DOING IT IN FOR HIS KING N THEN FOR THE KING OF INDIA N HE GOT PUBLICITY IN THERE SERVICE.......ITS TRUE THAT HE WAS DEFEATED BY B BAWRA IN A MUSICAL COMPETITION

It is human tendency to feel insecure about one's position. Likewise, Tansen may have wanted to protect his supremacy. In fact many people say that the great Lata Mangeshkar also disliked any "true rivalry". Another example - remember the left handed batsman - Sadagopan Ramesh? It's a well known fact that Saurav Ganguly put a stop to the talented guy's career. I'm sure all working people here also feel targeted by certain colleagues / departments! So, Tansen ho ya Nagsen, nobody likes to be deposed.

He definitely was greater singe and composer as compared to Tansen else he would not have been anmed by him to Akbar. The other thing is that Tansen was given to Court singing and other formats that necessarily ahd to eb renditions to please his master whereas Baiju Bawra was a free person of his own liking and choice all through ... This definitely gave him greater horizon to work on to.
