Your question reminds me of the great spat between Einstein and Heisenberg when the latter proposed his " Principle of uncertainty". Einstein refuted this saying " God doesn't play dice with the universe". But eventually, it was proved that the Heisenberg principle was correct and Einstein was wrong. I would say most of the things in life are not in our control, and most of those which we feel are in control, might only be giving an illusion that we are controlling. Things we believe that we have control also do sometimes spiral out of control like the steering wheel, the computer mouse, our emotions, the trajectory of a satellite. Control or rather the line of control is just a temporary phenomenon, most of the time things do go out of control, but the remarkable thing is that we adapt to the change and get the illusory feeling that we have control.
