Q.

Indians should watch the ongoing UEFA Euro 2008 championships in order to create an interest in the game in India.
Will this help in boosting India's position on the international football radar or won't it ?

hmmm yeah it can create interest in common man for sure but this interest isnt a guarantee of our further development in international football arena. Most of the the indians especially kids enjoy watching WWE fights on Ten Sports but how many fighters we manage to produce??
None...................the one Khali is living in US for more than 15 years.
The betterment of Football in India is another issue. It has nothing to do with popularity. If indian football team started doing well then surely the popularity will rise like Tennis after the arrival of Sania Mirza.
The Indian Football Association headed by Priya Ranjan Dasminsi is doing nothing except managing poor indian league. We do not have any ground of international level to host matches. We play very less............i guess less than 5 matches with the teams ranked higher than us.The players dont have any facility n are poorly paid.
These reasons should be checked so that we can become top 100 team someday.

I agree with you. We should encourage and give boost to the games other than cricket. But,,, there are no shoulds in the money play. ipl series minted money for some and they will go again. It is money and the waves of popularity that decides.

I am watching.
I dont think it will make any difference. Performance level decides interest level. Both make it a big zero.

It wont make a difference to the game. What is needed is an inner push which will come from better management and professional atitude towards football.

nothing to say abt this...jus they hav to watch more on the organizing and management part of it and more importantly learn and practice such professional attitude. its the most lacking thing.
but to tell u the truth...we still hav miles to go b4 we reach the vicinity of the international football radar range only....wheres the Cristiano Ronaldo, Fernando Torres, Franck Ribery and Miroslav Klose in India....my dearrrrrr..:))
