Although the world is full of good, exotic and mysterious places...I have my own choice of three places I would like to spend some time someday atleast...
#1. Machu Picchu in Peru.....Dominated by the 21,000ft-high peak of Salkantay mountain a holy site in Andean cosmology this is a place that inspires humility and superstition. We were, after all, walking in the footsteps of the Inca up here literally. The route itself is part of the Quapaq Nan, the vast network of trails that stretched many thousands of miles across the Inca empire, and 500 years after the Spanish destroyed it, the Inca civilisation felt close. People, Carlos included, speak Quechua, the language passed down from the Inca, and though their religion is veneered with Christianity, the old beliefs persist.
#2.Bird watching in Papua New Guinea.....The mysterious island of New Guinea is co-inhabited by Indonesia and the independent nation of Papua New Guinea.
This is the land of birds of paradise, Pesquest's Parrot, ...more
