If we belive God really we don't have to go anywhere. Today we the people take it as enjoyment. It is enjoyment of travel only. If you belive God, you do not try to show anybody.

O dear, where do you seek Me?
I am neither in temple nor in mosque,
I am neither in Kaaba nor in Kailash,
Neither am I in rites and ceremonies,
nor in Yoga and renunciation.
If thou art a true seeker, thou shalt at once see Me.
thou shalt meet Me in a moment of time.

It is all a show. Visiting religious places is good but not at the cost of own life. Doing justice to what we do religiously is the Great Prayer to God.

Every thing around you is god . temples are there so people can go and worship god and the mass vibes are more advantageous . one need not feel guilty in not going to temple or say slogans every day. if it makes you happy and good ,go ahead and pray . the soul within you also is divinity . only our mind is so much bogged by worldly life we do not realise it . we tend to build that our mind is ' me ' . the real ' me ' is our soul .

RAVAN ko RAM k Darshan hue,Kanss ko Krishna k Darshan hue,.........so what.?
They could realise GOD, when they got killed, this means Darshan only is not important,ONE NEEDS HIS BLESSINGS TOO,which one gets it thru ones' PUNNYA KARMAAS(good deeds)
